Summer Series: Money on the Table by Julien and Kiersten Saunders of "rich & REGULAR"
This week we highlight a video series called "Money on the Table" created by Julien and Kiersten Saunders, the inspiring couple behind the "rich & REGULAR" platform. They're known for the content that they share about their journey pursuing financial independence and retiring early (known as the FIRE movement).
In this series, they showcase their warm personalities, Julien's talent in the kitchen and their personal money stories - all while enjoying a delicious meal and discussing money at the table. My personal favorite episode is season 1, episode 3 when Julien's mom, a Jamaican immigrant, discusses moving to NYC and assimilating, working and trying to provide better opportunities for the next generation. She reflects on her past and shares the financial tips she wish she knew sooner in life.
The couple has recently announced the release of season 2 later this year and will be filming episodes in different cities with over 20 different guests appearing on the show. I highly recommend you tune in for that because you may see a familiar face! (Ok, it's my face, it's me! I'll make a guest appearance in season 2!) In the meantime, check out season 1 via this link to their full first season of episodes in one youtube playlist, or check out the first 3 episodes of season 1 below:
Not only is the series special because it provides Black representation within personal finance, specifically regarding the FIRE movement and pursuing financial independence, but also because of the incredible cuisine showcased and the creativity displayed through the artistic video and music production. The show is so easy to binge and I can't wait for more episodes to be released soon!
