Budgeting Tips by Berna Anat:

This week on NGPF's Summer Series, we highlight a series of three videos put together by Berna Anat, also known as @heyberna on social media, in partnership with Aerie.

Berna unpacks the budgeting and saving process for those who may not earn a high income, may identify as first-generation Americans, first-generation college grads, or those who identify as part of a marginalized community such as low-income or communities of color. Berna uses everyday lingo to translate the jargon of the traditional financial sector in a way that generation Z can relate to.

Born and raised by Dominican, immigrant parents in Brooklyn, Yanely is a proud product of NYC public schools. She graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in 2007 before going on to receive her bachelor's degree at Brown University in 2011. As a Teach For America corps member, Yanely taught third and fourth grade in Canarsie, Brooklyn. She received her master's degree from Relay Graduate School of Education in 2013.
