NEW! Collaboration Series: Podcasts In The Classroom
Educators love collaboration. NGPF Virtual PDs provide perfect opportunities for this to take place. We are starting a new feature in the blog, The Collaboration Series, to share great ideas coming out of NGPF Virtual PDs. One of the powerful engagement tools on Nearpod, the Collaborate Board, provides space for teachers to post ideas to a given prompt.
Imagine the value of collecting responses from dozens of teachers on implementation strategies for a specific resource in just a matter of minutes. Now imagine each teacher reviewing that list, selecting the 3-4 they like best and then seeing a list sorted by popularity.
Read this weekly post and you will get implementation ideas on various NGPF resources, strategies to engage your students in a Zoom world and other useful teacher tips.
This week's Collaborate Board was created by a team of teachers at the "Creative Instruction: Podcasts in the Classroom" virtual PD held on Saturday. While close to 50% of the attendees didn't listen to podcasts on a regular basis, after 45 minutes they were excited to weigh in on this question:
What features would you like to see in a podcast product?
Top responses included...
We took a few of these items and created a prototype of a podcast "product." Let us know what you think at tim@ngpf.org.

This virtual PD: Podcasts as a Teaching Tool will be repeated on Tuesday, October 27th at 1pm PT.

About the Author
Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
