Ok, maybe your high school students have lost all their baby teeth, but they might be curious about this…who knew that someone actually tracked this stat. Since my six year old son recently lost his first two teeth, I hope he doesn’t read this as he will surely get upset at his tightwad father.

The answer is….(hat tip to Marketplace): $3.19

That’s how much the tooth fairy is paying for teeth, according to an annual survey conducted by Visa. Whereas $3.43 was the average going rate for lost teeth in 2014, kids this year made just $3.19.

Oh, in case you were wondering, my son got $2 in the form of 2 one dollar coins.
