I teach high school and I want a full course
- Financial Algebra is the place to go! The perfect third-year math alternative or elective - Financial Algebra blends key financial concepts with mathematical skills from Algebra and Statistics.
I teach high school and I want easy sub plans
- MATH activities are stand-alone worksheets that include an Edpuzzle video walkthrough, a worked example, practice problems, and reflection questions
- APPLICATIONS are differentiated problem sets that practice one core math skill at 3 levels of difficulty.
I teach Algebra I/II and I want supplemental math resources
- The Math Activities Page lists individual resources that can be filtered by math topic, math standard, and personal finance topic
- Find the Financial Algebra Course unit(s) that align with the topics you want. Then, explore the Lesson Guides and Applications. You can also find the individual activities that are embedded in lessons on the right-hand side of the course page.
I teach Statistics and I want supplemental math resources
- The Math Activities Page has subsections for statistics and probability
- Financial Algebra Unit 8: Managing Credit & Fundamentals of Statistics
- Financial Algebra Unit 9: Paying For College & Statistical Analysis

I teach Personal Finance and I want a little more math
- Great news: you can find everything you need on each unit page! NGPF’s personal finance curriculum embeds lots of great math practice. Look for CALCULATE, ANALYZE, DATA CRUNCH, and MATH activities
- To dig deeper, check out the Math Activities Page, organized by math and personal finance topic.
- Note: we only recommend using the Financial Algebra course if you’re a math teacher. But don’t worry - if you’re not a math teacher, you can still find plenty of ways to math-ify your classroom.
I teach middle school and I want supplemental math resources
- MATH activities on percents, expressions, equations, and functions
- DATA CRUNCHES for data analysis (on each unit page)
- Although the Financial Algebra Course is designed for high school, you could pull from the units on the fundamentals of algebra, linear functions, and statistics
I teach middle school and I want a full course
- Don’t forget about the The Middle School Course! While it’s not primarily a math course, it embeds math skills, identified at the top of each lesson guide.

Kathryn (she/her) is excited to join the NGPF team after 9 years of experience in education as a mentor, tutor, and special education teacher. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in policy analysis and management and has a master's degree in education from Brooklyn College. Kathryn is looking forward to bringing her passion for accessibility and educational justice into curriculum design at NGPF. During her free time, Kathryn loves embarking on cooking projects, walking around her Seattle neighborhood with her dog, or lounging in a hammock with a book.
