NGPF Hosting Summit for Passionate Personal Finance Educator-Advocates
Palo Alto, CA - Feb 11, 2020 - Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF), a financial education non-profit, is hosting their 3rd annual Summit in San Francisco, California, from March 13-15, 2020.
The Changemaker Summit brings together 91 personal finance educators and administrators from high schools in 28 states who are all working to achieve the Gold Standard in personal finance education in their schools and districts. As part of Mission:2030, schools achieving the Gold Standard ensure that all students take a semester-long personal finance class prior to crossing that graduation stage. These schools, through their actions, believe that all students deserve a financial education that will allow them to thrive in their future lives beyond high school.
Reflecting their commitment to teacher professional development, NGPF has underwritten the full cost of the conference, including hotel accommodations for all attendees. Attendees will receive a certificate for 22 contact hours of professional development.
The highlights of the weekend program will include:
- Sessions to provide educators with new resources and ideas on how to engage students and make their course “the class every student is glad they had!”
- Teacher-led sessions and panels to showcase the progress of increasing access to personal finance education nationwide and to support educators as they advocate for an increase in personal finance education in their community
- Opportunities for teachers to collaborate during multiple sessions, social activities and meals throughout the weekend
“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to host such a talented and passionate group of educators for our 3rd Annual Changemaker Summit,” said Tim Ranzetta, co-founder of Next Gen Personal Finance. “While 90% of students and parents believe that personal finance should be taught in high school, only 16% currently get it. This inspiring group of Changemakers will close that gap.”
