Coming Soon: Buying a Car Mini Unit

The Buying a Car Mini Unit will be released in November!

One of the biggest curriculum requests we've gotten is for a mini unit dedicated to the car buying process.  Many of your students are about to make one of their first major purchases and potentially taking out one of their first loans.  They should be equipped with the information necessary to make sound financial decisions.  The curriculum team is hard at work completing this new mini unit!


What Content will this New Mini Unit Cover?

The Buying a Car Mini Unit will have 4 lessons plus one culminating activity:

    • Top car buying apps and websites
  • Lesson 2: Costs of Owning a Car
    • Details on the costs associated with owning and maintaining a car
    • Factors that affect insurance rates
    • Depreciation
    • Tips for saving money
  • Lesson 3: Buying New and Used Cars
    • Pros and cons of buying new vs buying used
    • Understanding extended warranties
    • Used vs Certified Pre-Owned
    • Securing an auto loan
    • Reading a vehicle history report
  • Lesson 4: Leasing a Car
    • Pros and Cons of buying vs leasing
    • Understanding the parts of a lease agreement
  • Lesson 5:  Sealing the Deal
    • What to bring to the dealership
    • Buying from a private seller
    • Negotiating the cost of a car
    • Find the monthly cost to buy new, buy used, and lease

When is the New Mini Unit Being Released?

The new mini unit will be released on November 17th.
