In case you missed it, April is Financial Literacy Awareness Month and this week it's sadly coming to and end. But, don't you worry - the NGPF community will make sure it doesn't end without a party!

So how can YOU build up hype for this event with your students? Let's take a look at what some of the awesome teachers in the NGPF community are doing: 

Jill Thompson who teaches at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming says their school has partnered with the local movie theatre, Studio City Mesa, which is closed for movies but open for curbside pick up of movie treats! The school is offering 200+ students two medium popcorns, which they can pick up before the start of the documentary. They can take the popcorn home, share with parents/family, and watch the documentary together! The event was promoted on Google Classroom, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. The event details were also shared with the local newspaper!

Since the viewing party at her school was cancelled, Courtney Poquette, Business Educator from Winooski High School in VT, created a video to share with her school community.  With students receiving so many emails, she wanted to make the announcement fun and easy for students to understand. It has been shared district-wide on their social media pages! Check it out below: 

Kayla Bousum, Business Education Teacher at Johnston High School in IA is required to offer two lessons per week to her students during this time of distance learning. She has invited her students to the watch party as one of this week’s lessons. Students were informed that they should be ready to discuss the Watch Party Event as a class when they join the Virtual Classroom via Zoom next Monday! 

Diane Mondoro teaches at Livingston High School in NJ. She says her students are looking forward to the Watch Party because there has been a lot of energy around promoting it. All students and parents received emails about the Watch Party and Scholarship Night. Students are allowed to skip out on Virtual Class next week without penalty if they watch the documentary and share their picture with Diane. The event details were posted on both Facebook and Twitter, and also shared with New Jersey's FBLA and DECA chapters. Diane contacted her District Public Relations Liaison and they agreed to post the event details on their district-wide social media account!

The list of creative ideas goes on and on! We simply cannot wait for the event to go down LIVE this Thursday night and we urge you to rally your students, their parents and families, and your larger school community to tune in because we have some special things planned! 

A sneak peek at Thursday night's programming: 20 students will be awarded $500 each, teachers and families will have a chance to win an Amazon gift card as well & there will be a few celebrities in the mix sharing their support for financial education - so you don't want to miss it!
